Allo friends!

This is a strange sunny, rainy, funny day in Beautiful British Columbia, Canada, headquarters of the Affordable Affiliates Network! Although we awoke to heavy rains, and lastnight provided thunder and electrical storms, today has developed into what appears to be a bright, nearly cloud-free day!

Some of you may have noticed there were no products assigned to your accounts Friday, as we had first intended. This was due to a last minute decision to be able to facilitate the ability to assign already sold content into users accounts, thus, creating immediate income in those accounts. Although this may not sound like much to you, our end user, however, this was quite a positive decision, which will allow us to immediately affect people’s revenue stream in an impactful way. We apologize for making you wait over the weekend, however, we are glad to deliver you a more powerful solution for our first run of product assignment. I hope to have this tool finished by the end of the day so that we can all start making some money!

A topic I would like to touch on quickly as a heads up for everyone is the Server issues we have been experiencing with our current Web host. It seems we are already starting to outgrow our current hosting solution and are waiting for an opportune time to switch providers. We would like to have both websites running at full speed before doing so, which, when we make the switch, will cause an outage on both sites (Affordable 2nd Thoughts and Affordable Affiliates) for up to 48 hours. Once we update our DNS servers (the map that connects our .com domain to our website), they will have to make a trip through every single DNS server around the world before you can see our new hosting solution. This process can take up to 48 hours, however, usually takes less than 12.

We will let everybody know before any of these changes are made, I hope everybody enjoys their week.

Hey there everyone,

Over the last 2 weeks, Chris was away working with Vtech in acquiring 53,000 sq. ft. of office products from their head office here in Vancouver. These acquisitions and product movement ate up most of his days over a short period of time, which is why some of you may have noticed he hasn’t been around or online much.

We’re nearing the deadline of the 15th, which is when we would like to start assigning products to our faithful investors and start making some money using our new small cap investment platform. We’re getting very excited as we get closer to start delivering on our promise!

Myself, I’m still super busy in development getting this whole program ready to go. I’ve finished most of http://www.affordableaffiliates.com and have moved on to updating the http://www.affordable2ndthoughts.com database. When starting test trials of assigning products to investors, I found that the current way the database is designed isn’t working for all the stats we have to deliver and is somewhat unorganized. This isn’t anyone’s fault really, its just a product of an ongoing project that underwent MANY small changes over a long period of time. Things got looked over, things got added at weird times, product placement changed and many other factors that made affordable2ndthoughts a little disorganized. Thats never stopped me before though! so… Away I go at digging everything up and replanting it correctly.

You may notice some odd things happening on http://www.affordable2ndthoughts.com as we do not yet have a development site for this so I am editing everything live. Once we start to implement the all new site I will have a development sandbox for testing before launching each feature.

As an added topic, I love Jquery. For you developers out there doing database manipulation and sites with lots of forms or administrative functions, I suggest you all check out the Javascript Framework Jquery as it has saved me a LOT of time in coding form validations, tabbing pages, and live loading content into divs using AJAX principles. Jquery has narrowed my development times greatly and I am very appreciative of the power behind it, so go check it out at http://www.jquery.com

The Affordable Affiliates Network, including Affordable2ndthoughts.com have been in development for quite some time now. Since taking over this project approximately 2 months ago, we’ve changed Affordable Affiliates from a marketing targeted site to our brand new investment platform we’re currently running. Our forward moving intentions are to continue development of our network with Affordable Affiliates as the umbrella.

From here forward, I will be posting all development intentions and announcements to the dev category in this blog for both sites for all to read. Please feel free to post any comments, questions or suggestions you may have so that we can be sure to develop the site to everyone’s needs (or at least as close as possible) =]
